This SAPI side plate is for when you need protection against more powerful weapons than small arms, for example against automatic weapons such as M80, AK47 and M193. The PGD-LW+ is produced in Europe because we want to be sure that the quality is right. The side plate is made in single-cut. It is the lightest of our Hard plates and weighs only 0.62 kg.
How is the weight of the PGD-LW+ kept so low?

We use quality materials from Honeywell and Dyneema to keep the weight down while ensuring it can withstand multiple shots. The plate is 100% HPPE (High performance Polyethylene), made to be placed in a plate carrier. Not only mobile phones need a protective case when they fall. To make a hard plate last a long time, there is a thin layer of foam around the hard plate. This layer protects the ballistic hard plate, so that it remains usable and protects when it is needed.

What is the advantage of a SAPI plate?

The advantage of a 100% polyethylene SAPI plate is that the weight is much lower than a ceramic plate. Polyethylene can often handle several impacts in the same area, which are close together. It is an incredibly strong bulletproof plate against multiple hits, because we attach great importance to the highest quality during production. The plates have a signature back lining, protecting your internal organs from the force of the impact, keeping you alive.

The plate is produced under extreme pressure, which means it can withstand drops and yet can withstand any combat situation. In addition, the plate is covered with a liquid-repellent Cordura cover, which protects the ballistic properties against water, oil and similar liquids.
